Project
Overview
The Hardware Store POS & Inventory Management System is a full-stack, enterprise-grade retail platform
developed specifically for daily hardware and construction supply operations. Unlike generic retail
software, hardware retail demands multi-unit conversions (boxes, pieces, meters, kilograms), rapid
keyboard-driven checkout, real-time stock balance tracking, supplier replenishment pipelines, and dedicated
customer credit ledger tracking (pautang).
Architected with a modern client-server stack using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and MySQL, the system
guarantees high-speed transaction processing, instant barcode scanner integration, and real-time inventory
ledger synchronization across cash registers and warehouse computers.
Key Features & Engineering Highlights
- Keyboard-First Cashier Terminal:
Ergonomic checkout flow equipped with hotkeys (F1–F12, Enter, Esc), allowing cashiers to ring up orders,
modify quantities, and process payments without touching the mouse.
- Barcode Scanning & Fuzzy Search:
Instant SKU detection via physical handheld barcode scanners, supplemented with sub-millisecond keyword
and category search.
- Live Stock Ledger & Auditing:
Complete chronological audit log of every stock addition, counter deduction, damage write-off, and
supplier return to prevent discrepancy.
- Customer Credit & Utang Ledger:
Tracks customer credit limits, billing statements, partial repayments, and outstanding balance aging
reports.
- Real-Time Multi-Terminal Sync: WebSocket
events broadcast stock changes and cash drawer events across concurrent stations instantly.
- Thermal Receipt & Invoice Printing:
Native formatting for ESC/POS thermal printers with automated sales summary receipts and official customer
invoices.
